Frequently Asked Questions
What is Sweet Living Farms?
We are a family-owned business running our own farm in Palm, Bay Florida. We plant, nurture, harvest, and process all of our products by ourselves. We are headed by Kevin Jester who makes all of the business goals possible from the start. Sweet Living Farms is composed of less than twenty employees and currently producing Sorgo Grass Juice, Sorgo Grass Syrup, Beet Juice, Watermelon Juice, Cabbage Palm Honey, Black Mangrove Honey, and Brazillian Pepper Honey distributed within the USA.
How long do your products last?
Our syrups and honey have a shelf-life of 18 months, while our juice products can last up to 60 days. To maintain its high quality, please make sure to store it properly. Syrups and honey can be kept at ambient temperature while our juice products should be refrigerated. Please take note that our juice products once opened, starts to lose its freshness, and therefore may only last up to thirty days.
Are your products organic?
We do not claim to be organic but we do everything possible to operate our farm in a sustainable and regenerative manner. We cultivate our crops to mechanically remove weeds when possible and reduce the herbicides used. We do all our processing on-site so there is very little trucking expense involved. In that way, we have greatly reduced our carbon emissions that don’t harm our environment. The bagasse and pulp left over after pressing the juice are put back on the fields to enrich the soil, reduce waste, and lower the need for fertilizer.
We do everything we can to reduce our impact on the environment and leave the land healthier and in better condition every year than it was the year before. Even our waste and wash water goes back on the land instead of being pumped into a municipal treatment facility.
Can we order your products online and deliver it to our home?
Sorry, but as of now, we don’t offer online ordering for our pre-packed products. We only distribute them to various supermarkets in the US where you can buy them. Don’t worry, soon we will be doing this and we’ll let you know first hand.
It’s my first time to hear Sorgo, can you explain what it is?
Sorgo, as we like to call it, refers to sweet sorghum, a grass-like plant from the Sorghum crop family. Sorghum with evidence had been first cultivated in Southern Egypt over eight thousand years ago. It became an important crop to many Africans and made its way to the US in the early 17th century.
The sorghum family of crops includes four varieties: grain, forage, biomass, and sweet. It is the grain and sweet varieties that are mainly used to produce food and beverages.
Unless you came from the countries where Sorghum is cultivated, you may not probably familiar with it. No worries, we have a created a page where you can learn more about it. Simply click here and enjoy learning!
