Cabbage Palm Honey

Cabbage Palm Honey

Our Cabbage Palm Honey has a unique, white to light amber appearance, and has a mild, delicious taste.

During summer, our bees gather nectar from the flowers of the Cabbage Palm tree to produce our very own Cabbage Palm Honey. Cabbage Palm, also known as Sabal Palmetto is the state tree of Florida that usually grows on sandy shores and seacoast woodlands of Southern US.

Nutritional Benefits of Honey

Since ancient times, honey has become helpful to everyone who wants to consume healthier food or sweetener. One tablespoon of honey usually contains an average of 60 calories and 16 grams of sugar that is mostly composed of fructose, glucose, and sucrose.

Honey doesn’t contain fat, cholesterol, fiber, and protein. Interestingly, it contains antioxidants such as organic acids and phenolic compounds. These antioxidants are linked to being beneficial to the body such as reducing the risk of strokes, heart attacks, high blood pressure, and even cancers. If you are a diabetic, you may also want to consider this as an alternative because this is “less bad” than the usual table sugar.

Also, raw honey is also used to treat some digestive problems, sore throat, or treating wounds.
